This Saturday, 3 October 2026 at 2:00 PM, the center gathers for the Tara Puja — a prayer to Arya Tara for protection and for the courage to meet whatever comes. All are welcome, and no registration is needed.
Who Arya Tara Is
Arya Tara is often called the swift one. Where some practices ask for patience and long preparation, Tara is the mother who answers quickly — the one you turn to when an obstacle is right in front of you and you do not know the way around it. Her name means she who ferries beings across, carrying us from fear to safety, from being stuck to being free.
Tara’s blessing is not only for large dangers. It reaches the ordinary ones too: the worry that keeps you awake, the illness that interrupts practice, the circumstance that will not move. To ask for her protection is to ask for the conditions that let you keep going — steady, unafraid, and kind.
What We Pray For
At a Tara Puja the Sangha chants together, offerings are arranged and given, and the merit is dedicated. We request protection, the clearing of every kind of obstacle, and the growth of three things Tara is especially asked to cultivate: courage, wisdom, and compassion. These are what carry a life forward — the strength to act, the clarity to see rightly, and the warmth to hold others while we do.
Nothing is required of you but presence and a sincere wish. The prayer is offered not only for those in the room but for families near and far, and for all beings without exception.
How to Take Part
There are three simple ways, and any one of them is complete in itself:
- Come in person. Saturday, 3 October at 2:00 PM, at the center. Come as you are; no experience is needed.
- Make an offering. Choose fruits, a lamp, flowers, a Sangha offering, or any amount you wish, and dedicate a name at checkout. Details are on our Upcoming Events page.
- Dedicate a name. Whether you are in Jakarta or far away, names offered are read and included in the prayers. If you prefer to give directly by BCA transfer to Yay Sera Jey Wisdom Center, 5213568999, simply message us on WhatsApp afterwards with your dedication names.
If you have never attended a puja before, you may simply sit at the back and listen. The chanting is in Tibetan and you are not expected to follow it. Many people find that they understand something anyway — the room is doing one thing together, and you are part of it.
By the blessing of Arya Tara, may every hindrance lessen and the path to virtue remain always open. May all beings be protected, may their fear grow small, and may their courage grow steady.
