This Saturday, 5 September 2026 at 2:00 PM, the center gathers for the Palden Lhamo Kangso Puja — a prayer for protection. All are welcome, and no registration is needed.
Who Palden Lhamo Is
Palden Lhamo is a great Dharma Protector. Her form is fierce, but her nature is compassion. What looks like wrath is the energy of a mother who will not let harm come to her child — a strength that guards the Dharma and destroys every obstacle, danger, and negative energy standing in the way of practice.
It helps to remember that a protector is not asked to take sides in our small quarrels. What we ask for is the clearing of obstacles: the illness that interrupts practice, the fear that makes the mind small, the circumstances that pull a family apart. Protection, in this sense, means the conditions to keep going.
What a Kangso Puja Is
Kangso means fulfilment. It is a practice of making offerings, restoring what has been let slip in our own commitment, and renewing the connection between practitioner and protector. The Sangha chants; offerings are arranged and given; the merit is dedicated. Nothing is required of you but presence and a sincere wish.
Through this puja we pray together for unshakeable protection, for strength and courage, and for the conditions that support Dharma practice and a harmonious life — for ourselves, for our families, and for all beings without exception.
How to Take Part
There are three simple ways, and any one of them is complete in itself:
- Come in person. Saturday, 5 September at 2:00 PM, at the center. Come as you are; no experience is needed.
- Make an offering. Choose fruits, a lamp, flowers, a Sangha offering, or any amount you wish, and dedicate a name at checkout. Details are on our Upcoming Events page.
- Dedicate a name. Whether you are in Jakarta or far away, names offered are read and included in the prayers. If you prefer to give directly by BCA transfer to Yay Sera Jey Wisdom Center, 5213568999, simply message us on WhatsApp afterwards with your dedication names.
If you have never attended a puja before, you may simply sit at the back and listen. The chanting is in Tibetan and you are not expected to follow it. Many people find that they understand something anyway — the room is doing one thing together, and you are part of it.
By this merit, may every obstacle to the Dharma be pacified. May all beings be protected, may their fear grow small, and may their courage grow steady.
